6月3日晚，2012年MTV电影奖在美国加州吉布森剧场隆重举行。

《饥饿游戏》（The Hunger Games）成为今年当之无愧的大赢家，两大主演乔什·哈切森（Josh Hutcherson）和詹妮弗·劳伦斯（ Jennifer Lawrence）分获最佳男女演员奖和最佳打斗奖，伊丽莎白·班克斯（Elizabeth Banks）获最佳银幕转型奖。

克莉丝汀·斯图尔特（Kristen Stewart）与罗伯特·帕丁森（Robert Pattinson）再度夺得最佳吻戏奖。《暮光之城：破晓（上）》赢得年度最佳影片称号。

约翰尼·德普（Johnny Depp ）被授予MTV电影世代大奖。艾玛·斯通（Emma Stone）获得了年度先锋奖。
